How To Train Your Troll

I think all people are looking for a reaction from others so they know they matter. Many like me try to get that reaction through humor and commentary, or trying to entertain others. We want an audience. Others get their reaction through charity and samaritanship. Children get reactions by provoking their parents. Trolls (and bullies in general) haven’t grown past that, however, and think the easiest and fastest way to get people to react to them is provocation. The emotional reward from provocation is so small, they’re never satisfied. “Don’t feed the energy creature” is often said of them. But maybe the way to deal with them is to change their diet somehow from the small bites at our souls to more fulfilling actions so they get better reactions.
